Explanations will accompany all activities, enriched
with stories from these desert dwelling people.
Also, for your enjoyment, Bedouin musicians will perform live.
NATURE
A-Donkey trek
Trek in the Judean Desert
Duration of trek- 8 hours.
Your journey will take you above the canyon
of Tze`elim where the contrasting heights of
the landscape create a spectacular view.
You will leave the camp towards Gorni Hill where
you will stop for a Bedouin tea break.
From Gorni Hill you will trek towards Aneva Ridge.
This is where you will have the chance to eat lunch.
From here we make our way back to camp through the
Southern Gorni lookout, after a fulfilling day out in
the desert.
This trek is for all seasons except the summer.
Minimum of 8 participants aged 10 and above.
The trek is guided by local trackers.
Food is not included- Please provide your own
packed lunch.For your convenience- it is possible
to order a Bedouin Food Package which will be cooked
especially for you outdoors.
B-Camel trek
In the Kana`im Valley- Duration of trek-1hr.
This circular route goes through the Bedouin settlements
allowing you to see the layout of desert life from a camel's
viewpoint.
C-Camel trek
To Gorni Hill- Duration of trek- 1.5-2hrs.
Enjoy the contrast between ancient and modern day Bedouin
transportation by cruising on a camel to the Gorni Hill
lookout and then be chauffeured back to camp having taken
in spectacular sights.
D-Camel trek
To Aneva Ridge- Duration of trek- 4hrs.
This route takes you above the Tze`elim Valley where centuries
of winter floods have carved the landscape. Be sure to wear
walking boots for the 1 hr. hike back to camp.
E-Extra
Donkey rides are available to those who book a camel trek.
F-Hiking
It is possible to hire experienced trackers who will guide you with their knowledge.
Star Gazing Evening-
The desert skies provides ideal conditions for star gazing.
This evening activity will provide you with explanations
about the stars, planets, galaxies, black holes, gravity
and the speed of light. There are also activities on fairy
tales, star signs, meteors and constellations.
Nature Workshop on Desert Wildlife
This presentation of the heat adapted animals
will enable you to see these usually hidden creatures up close.
Some examples are snakes, scorpions, porcupines and lizards.
